ABOUT the ART & ARTIST
LESLIE Y. MEEKS
As a master fiber artist, Leslie has dedicated her life to the pursuit of her art and helping others to also find their artistic voice. She's drawn to texturally interesting fibers, leading playful use of color and embellishment to define her creations. As yarn speaks to her, so move her hands in response to the vision, allowing for one-of-a-kind crocheted creations with each outing.
Her work has been featured in galleries and shows in Greater Philadelphia as well as across the country, from the national Crochet Guild of America’s annual convention to Virginia's Gosport Arts Festival to Maryland's renowned Gallery Serengeti, among others. She is a CGOA-certified master of advanced stitches and techniques.
An educator by profession, Leslie has devoted equal parts of her career designing and leading instructional programs for children and adults alike. She holds degrees from both Drexel and LaSalle universities and resides in her native Philadelphia.
